Reasons for the noise of the contactor core and how to deal with it

2018/11/01

Poor contact between the armature and the iron core or the armature skew: After the armature and the iron core have been touched many times, the contact surface is worn or deformed, or the contact surface is dirty or dusty, which may cause poor contact of the contact surface, resulting in suction. When the vibration and noise are generated at the same time, the iron core is accelerated and damaged. At the same time, the coil is overheated. In severe cases, the coil may even be burnt. If the vibration is caused by oil stain on the end face of the iron core, it should be removed and cleaned. If it is caused by deformation or wear of the end face, it can be laid flat on the flat iron plate with fine gauze. Push the iron core back and forth to flatten the end face. For the E-shaped iron core, it should be noted that the residual magnetic clearance of 0.1 to 0.2 mm should be left between the contact faces of the iron core.

Answer: The reason for the noise of the AC contactor core is as follows:
(1) Poor contact between the armature and the iron core or the armature skew: After the armature and the iron core have been touched many times, the contact surface is worn or deformed, or dirt, dust, etc. on the contact surface may cause contact failure of the contact surface. It causes vibration and noise when sucking, which causes the iron core to accelerate damage. At the same time, it will overheat the coil. In severe cases, it will even burn the coil.
(2) The short-circuit ring damages the AC contactor during the running process. After the iron core has repeatedly collided, the short-circuit ring embedded in the end face of the iron core may break or fall off. At this time, the iron core generates strong vibration and makes a large noise. Short-circuit ring breakage occurs mostly at the corners or slots outside the slot. The weld can be welded or replaced at the time of repair and reinforced with epoxy resin.
(3) Mechanical reasons: If the contact pressure is too large or the movable part is jammed, the armature and the iron core cannot be completely attracted. Both will produce strong vibration and noise.
